Spring Break & Chickenpox

Not really the best combination is it? I guess the timing could always be worse.

Patrick woke up Tuesday morning with a handful of what I thought were zits around his neck and on his head. He felt a little warm to me as well and that's when I remembered hearing something about other kids in the neighborhood with chickenpox. I got online (of course) and read up on symptoms and remedies. Yep. Chickenpox for sure.

I don't know if I felt worse for Patrick or Maddy. Poor Maddy had to stay indoors most of her break and even though we went to the park a couple of times, I didn't dare let friends come over or anything. I really wanted to go see that new Dr. Suess movie, or go to the zoo, but I would hate to be the one to expose the whole state! Patrick actually didn't get too many 'pitter-pox' (as Jake calls them) but he sure only wanted his mama! He had to sit on my lap or be in my arms at all times of the day. All times.

Maybe I feel worse for me! I'm worn out! I had to lock myself in my room Friday night so that I could walk around without an almost 2 year old on my hip. Jake was great to let me veg out most of the weekend and recover from a long run and Patrick-pox.

Maddy and Miranda have learned to do lots of things themselves this week like: Getting out all of my scrapping things and making lots of cards. Making baggie snacks of cereal and chocolate chips that they left all over the place. I think they also did their own hair and picked their own outfits everyday. So if you happened to come over this week, just keep that in mind...

Between all of my marathon training, Girl Scout cookie business and sick kid business, I'm ready for Spring Break to be over! When does school start? And when can I get a babysitter?

* I will post pitter-pox pics tomorrow* :)
