Last month I was lucky(?)enough to run a relay race across Arizona. It was 182 miles, and we ran from Wickenburg to Mesa. We had two awesome drivers and 11 other fantastic women to run with and it was quite the adventure! We slept very little, but overall had a lot of fun! I don't think I have been that tired in my life! :)
I know a lot of you in Arizona have seen this, but for those of you who haven't, this is a video that one of the runner's husband put together of us at the race. Jake mixed a song and even wrote a rap over the music. Totally Jake style for all of those who know him! The lyrics are hard to hear on this, so I added them at the bottom if you want to read along! Enjoy!
Alright stop what you're doin', the sistas gonna ruin
The image and the style that you're used to
They look pretty even when they're gettin' sweaty
So yo world I hope you're ready for these
12 ladies representin' 4-8-0
The QC, AZ and they're ready to go
They got sole . . but not the kind of soul you might think
All lip gloss and tank tops and flip flops and bright pink
Pimped the minivan, high heels hangin'
From the rear view and a mirrorball danglin'
The relay race begins ultra-feminine,
Runnin fast cause they're high on adrenaline
Hit the street, no sleep, cold showers
The boys can't hang cause they got girl power
They can't compete with the fashion show track meet
Seven minute miles, more style than Versace . . .
Lookin' like Hollywood Ragnar Supastars
Coach bags packed to the max with Power Bars
Molly Mo Flo-Jo's are on the run
First place? Not a chance, but they're always number one!
There's no need for introduction, but since you're curious
Let me tell 'bout the fast, pink, and furious
Jana, Rachel, Wendy, Sara, Kathleen, and Stacia
Burnin' up the desert from Wickenburg to Mesa
Amelia, Cresta, Alys, Lindsay B.
And Karolee who married this wack MC
And without Brittany Whetten they'd only have eleven
Cause Stacy was at home makin Johnson Number Seven (do your thang honey!!)
Priscilla step aside, cause the queens of the desert
Are coming atcha fast thanks to Becky and to Heather . . .
The pilots of the SolePlane, drivin' in the fast lane
100 miles to the finish line showin' no pain
Molly Mo Flo-Jo's are on the run
First place? Not a chance, but they're always number one!

That is so awesome! I would love to do a race like that someday! I will be up in Utah for about 3 weeks in July. I am going to run the 24th of July marathon with my dad. I am driving, so we'll be stopping in Mesa. I need to see if Aunt Kathy will let us stay at her place. I will probably be up there around the 13th.
Hope all is well!
Can't wait to do it again. Hope you don't mind, I pasted Jakes lyrics on to my blog. The world needs to know about his mad rhymes!
